Visa Requirements
Most travelers require a visa to enter Laos and all travelers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after their planned exit from Laos. Visa on Arrival service is possible, you need 35 USD and a recent passport photo.

Currency used
The official currency is the Lao Kip and is used throughout the country. USD and THB are sometimes accepted although it’s not common. Beer in Laos is a steal. A 640 ml bottle of decent Beerlao comes in at 8000 – 10,000 Kip ($1 – $1.25). ATMs are widely available throughout the capital and other towns/cities, however if you are travelling to a rural area be sure to withdraw enough money beforehand.

Getting to Laos
There are many international flights to Laos. Land border crossing is available from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China and Myanmar. However crossing from Myanmar is remote.
