Welcome to Siem Reap! Upon arrival you will meet our local representative who will take you to your hostel. After checking in the rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax. Take a dip in the hostel pool, get a massage to decompress after your travels and then afterwards head down to Pub Street for welcome drinks and a rooftop party!
After breakfast get ready for a day of exploring Siem Reap. You’ll be picked up at the hotel by tuk tuk. Visit a host of places and end with a sunset river cruise. In the evening experience the amazing Phare Circus.
Your efforts here would provide the local community with a center where they can meet and where future initiatives can be planned to improve the lives of the people in Angkor Kreav. Meet with the community coordinator for a short briefing, also meet with a recipient family and the building team. They will explain the work before the start. Your main jobs will be mixing the sand and cement, sawing, measuring, chiseling, and hammering. Lunch will be served at project site.
Continue construction work.
Today is the last day of contraction work.
Today is free day and relax on own.
Today you will be heading to your school homestay experience. This school provides education to the local children of Sampov Lourn village providing additional Khmer, Math, English and recreational activities. They work to ensure future job opportunities lie in Cambodia for the locals rather than going to work in neighbouring countries. You will be helping this amazing school by helping teach and assisting the kids with their English lessons and by facilitating games, songs and other creative activities.
Good morning! After your morning teaching session, we’ll be making a vital contribution to the local people. Part of your fees will be contributing to the supplies and labourers needed to build either a well, a toilet, school kitchen for communities in need of fresh water. The donation made will depend upon the needs of the community at the time and this process is organised by the Cambodian Buddhism Association for Vulnerable Children, an NGO that’s making a vital impact in less fortunate areas of Cambodia.
Get ready for a day of discovering the magnificent temples. Depart at 5:30am in the morning for the sunrise at the temples of Angkor. After an exciting morning exploring, we’ll head back mid afternoon, for a well deserved rest or dip in the pool. In the evening get your bartering skills ready and head to Siem Reap’s famous Night Market for some shopping time.
This morning you will travel to Phnom Kulen, the sacred mountain that was the birthplace of the Khmer empire. It was here that Jayavarman II proclaimed independence from Java in 802, setting the stage for the glories of the Angkor-era that was to follow. There is a beautiful waterfall further downstream which the perfect place to cool off after exploring is.
After lunch, you will visit the Feeding Dreams Project.
This amazing project’s motto is that no child should attend school hungry. We’ll visit their centre and have a visit around their classrooms and maybe do a English teaching demonstration, organise a game of football against their team and enjoy cocktails and snacks at their training centre which is designed to provide training, skills and future employment opportunities to those less fortunate. We’ll even be visiting the local slums and making a rice drop donation as well to help feed the village and local families.
